We close on the 20th December & reopen on the 2nd of January.
Loading heavy equipment into a van, trailer or light commercial vehicle is one of those tasks that carries real risk every single time it is done. Manual lifting strains the body, creates opportunities for accidents, and often requires more than one person to get the job done safely. For businesses doing this day in, day out, that risk adds up quickly.
Repetitive manual handling is one of the most common causes of workplace injury in the UK. Awkward lifting positions, shared loads between two people and the constant movement in and out of a vehicle all create conditions where things can go wrong. Fatigue and poor weather make things worse and when a load when a load shifts unexpectedly, the consequences can range from a dropped piece of equipment to a serious injury.
The EasyLoad vehicle-mounted loading system from Glide-Rite has been designed to address exactly these situations, giving operators a controlled, powered alternative to manual lifting that works directly from the vehicle itself.
EasyLoad is a compact loading crane that mounts inside the vehicle and is powered by an electric winch. Equipment is hooked on and raised or lowered at the touch of a button, removing the need for any of the awkward lifting, pulling or manoeuvring that causes so many injuries over time.
The controlled movement of the system means loads go where they need to go steadily and predictably. There are no sudden drops, no uneven carrying angles, and no need for operators to put their bodies into positions they were not designed to sustain repeatedly.
For businesses where this kind of loading happens multiple times a day, that reduction in physical strain makes a genuine difference to the health and well-being of the people doing the work.
Many heavy items normally require two people to load safely, which creates its own complications. Communication during a shared lift is harder than it sounds, and the risk of uncoordinated movement increases when two people are trying to control a heavy load together.
EasyLoad is designed for single-person operation.
One operator controls the entire loading process, which means full attention on the load, full control of the movement and no reliance on a second person being available.
For businesses, this also reduces the pressure of having to send two members of staff with a vehicle simply to manage loading and unloading at the other end.
Heavy equipment becomes dangerous the moment it starts moving in a way that was not planned. A load that shifts during loading can damage the vehicle interior, damage the equipment itself or injure anyone nearby.
Because EasyLoad lifts and positions loads in a controlled arc, the movement is predictable from start to finish. Operators are not fighting the weight of the load or or trying to correct an awkward angle mid-lift. The equipment goes in cleanly, sits where it is supposed to and stays there.
This level of control also protects the vehicle itself, reducing the impact damage around door frames and load areas that often comes with manual loading over time.
Manual loading often involves ramps, repeated trips in and out of the vehicle and carrying loads at angles that compromise balance and footing. In wet conditions or on uneven ground, these situations become genuinely hazardous.
Because EasyLoad lifts equipment directly into position from outside the vehicle, operators spend far less time physically moving through the cargo space while carrying a load. The process is more contained, more controlled and requires significantly less movement overall. That reduction alone removes a meaningful slice of the daily risk.
EasyLoad is available in a range of configurations to suit different vehicles and working requirements. Models rated for loads up to 250 kilograms cover the majority of tools, machines, and commercial equipment used day-to-day in vans and trailers. For heavier requirements, higher capacity models rated up to 500 kilograms are available, designed for more demanding lifting tasks and specialist applications.
There is also a specialist EasyLoad version featuring a certified anchor point for fall protection equipment, designed for applications such as sewer inspection and renovation work where personal safety equipment needs a secure, rated fixing point above the working area. For trailer applications where additional reach or capacity is needed, two EasyLoad units can be fitted to handle heavier or bulkier loads without any manual lifting involved.
For businesses running box vans or larger interior spaces, EasyLoad options are available with crossbeam mounting sets that include all the necessary hardware to ensure full structural compatibility. And for situations where a powered winch solution is needed without a full loading crane, Glide-Rite also supplies the Power Winch as a complementary option within the vehicle access and loading range.
A safety improvement that gets in the way of day-to-day operations is not a practical solution. EasyLoad has been engineered to sit close to the vehicle walls and roof when in use, and to push aside when not needed, leaving the full load area accessible for racks, tools, and other cargo. The usable space in the vehicle does not have to be sacrificed to gain the safety benefit.
Installation is completed by a vehicle converter or bodybuilder and typically takes around four hours, meaning minimal disruption to the working day. The plug-and-play design, developed by MAD Loading Systems, ensures the system goes in cleanly and reliably.
Businesses have a legal and moral responsibility to reduce workplace risk wherever they reasonably can. Manual handling injuries are largely preventable, and investing in the right equipment is one of the most direct ways to demonstrate that commitment in practice.
EasyLoad does not just make individual loading tasks safer. It changes the conditions under which loading happens, making controlled, low-risk handling the default rather than the exception. Over time, that shift has a real impact on injury rates, staff confidence and the overall safety culture of a business.
Glide-Rite supplies and installs the EasyLoad system across a wide range of commercial vehicles, working with businesses to identify the right configuration for their vehicles, loads, and how they work. Every installation is carried out to ensure the system performs reliably from day one and continues to do so long term.

A very happy customer having just had rear air assist fitted to our Le Voyageur motorhome, by the team at Glide Rite. From the initial contact with David, all through the booking process and then on the day of fitting this week, everything was professionally handled. Much appreciated was the ability to park outside overnight, complete with hook up, security lights and CCTV, and then the generous use of a courtesy car whilst my installation was done. A great job, and glad to have decided on the day to upgrade to the Air Master Controller, looks great in our Mercedes cab 😁Posted on Google bikerarthur27Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The whole process of adding semi air suspension from start to finish was completely stress free; cannot recommend this company highly enough. Was able to stop overnight as had travelled along distance from the Midlands, 3 hours journey. This company is one of the best I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with all the staff are courteous, knowledgeable and can't do enough to help you. I had the semi air suspension fitted and what a difference it made, it should be mandatory on any camper conversion. The van now handles like it should instead of trying to steer a brick. Excellent service, definitely recommend this company.Posted on Google Chris BruneyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Edit Nov 2025 I wanted to leave this follow-up review for Carl, David, Alan and the team at Glide-Rite. After having a levelling system fitted almost 18 months ago and then my semi-air suspension 6 months ago, we took our motorhome on an epic journey across Europe, fully laden with everything you need for a long trip (including a motorcycle). Both systems were transformational and gave us speed and comfort on almost every kind of terrain – incredible investments that massively enhanced our experience. While the initial installations were flawless, what truly amazed me was the after-sales service. I had an issue – most likely my mistake – and Carl had also promised a component upgrade last year. It would have been so easy to fob me off, but even after 18 months he treated me no differently to the first time we met: as a valued customer. I’m just staggered! Today they spent almost three hours completing the work and made me comfortable in their office while I waited. The work was completed to a very high standard, and they even replaced a component I had damaged – all free of charge. So when you’re shopping around for cheaper prices, please remember: there are still companies in the UK that remember what proper customer service looks like – Glide-Rite is at the top of the list! ///////////////////////////////////////////// Outstanding customer service end-to-end! From the very first enquiry of our HPC Self Levelling System, to the chauffeur collection at the train station after fitting, this team have been simply amazing. First class, secure facilities and top-notch workmanship where attention to detail is unrivalled. Really happy to recommend Carl, David, Alan and will definitely be back for the air suspension in the future!Posted on Google David WardTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I can honestly say say that there aren’t many companies nowadays that offer the high level of customer service and satisfaction that Glide Rite do. We travelled from Yorkshire to have rear air suspension fitted and was really impressed with our experience! We were allowed to park up our motor home with free electric hook up and stay over night as our job was booked in for the next day. On top of this we were offered the use of a practically new courtesy car with a full tank of fuel to spend the day site seeing around Liverpool. Carl is the nicest and most professional man and he made us feel so valued. 💯% prefect thank you so much 👍🏼 would highly recommend to anyonePosted on Google Richard CooperTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
